Sitting in God’s Presence

Lord You do a work within me as I search diligently for You. You are always with me but the sweet satisfying communion of Your presence that comes to me as I seek You and don’t let go, and don’t give up is worth the wait. I go after You on the promise of Your Word that Your presence, Your love, Your wisdom, Your hope, Your truth, and Your peace is mine and is worth every moment I spent seeking You.

Sitting at Your feet is a gift and I choose to quiet myself so that I can hear You and experience You. Quieting myself becomes a discipline that trains my heart to say and believe that You are worth sitting here and seeking. My heart begins to push the other things I desire aside as I train myself to sit and wait. You increasingly become my heart’s desire. Your presence and wisdom become more valuable to me than anything else I desire. Thank you, Lord, that by sitting, reading Your Word, worshipping, and journaling, You do a work in my heart.

Then suddenly!

Oh Lord the suddenly.

Suddenly I am overwhelmed by Your love! It floods my soul, permeates my entire being. The things that once mattered don’t matter anymore because I Am has now come. In the presence of I Am, I can exchange my frustration for peace, my sadness for joy, my disappointment for restoration, my fear for love, my anxiousness for peace….everything that leads me away from You and Your truth is exchanged for what You have for me. I receive the treasures of what You hold for me.

Proverbs 8:17 TPT “I will show my love to those who passionately love me. For they will search and search continually until they find me.”

Proverbs 8:34-35 TPT “If you wait at wisdom’s doorway, longing to hear a word for every day, joy will break forth within you as you listen for what I’ll say. For the fountain of life pours into you every time that you find me, and this is the secret of growing in the delight and the favor of the Lord.”
