It is amazing how perspective changes everything!
As a Bible Study Leader I was sharing about the woman who had a spirit of infirmity and was completely bent over and unable to straighten herself up. (The complete story about her is in Luke 13:11-13.)
To better understand her situation, I decided to live like her for a few hours.
Do you know that if you never look up and only see the floor you can find a lot of dirt that you missed when you cleaned? When I was talking to someone, I couldn’t look into their eyes. I couldn’t see them.
It was a sunny day and I couldn’t enjoy the sunshine. I only knew that it was sunny because I saw the sunlight shining on my floor.
As I spent the remainder of the morning hunched over, I started to feel discouraged. I could only see one thing, the floor. I felt like I missed things that were going on around me.
I learned a lot that day by living just a few hours in this woman’s shoes. I can’t imagine how she felt after living that way for 18 years!
You and I may not be hunched over like this woman. Our attitudes, though, can be like her, stuck in the midst of the dirt on the floor, unable to look up and see the possibilities through a different perspective.
I encourage you to stand straight in the midst of your circumstances today. Jesus is the lifter of your head (Psalm 3:3). We can lift our eyes and see where our help comes from. Our help comes from the Lord who is creator of all things (Psalm 121:1). You are seated in Heavenly places and from that position your situation will look completely different (Ephesians 2:6)!
Turn your eyes to the Lord and allow Him to change your perspective on your circumstances. Ask Him to help you see your situation from His perspective.
Be blessed,
